Administration of Programs

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the organization's activities under its four offices in Ghana and all it's the three programmes.

However, while the Executive Director is directly in charge of all the programmes and project activities under the SSF, the Programmes Administrator and Accountant as well as three Project Coordinators assist him for all projects. Each project also employs other technical staff, such as Health Educators, Nutritionist, Gender and Human rights specialist and other supporting staff to manage the Project.

Generally the Social Support Foundation has versatile team members with individual professional experiences between three and twelve years, in community development programmes, Social work, community animation through community based institutions development, public health and hygiene promotion, water and sanitation, child survival and education, finance and administration, rights based approach to development, human rights and advocacy.

With the rights based approach to development as a strategy and the highly capable and experienced staff our work on the weak, sick, vulnerable and the abused have achieved an improved standard of living for the targeted clients and communities in our selected operational Regions.

An Executive Director administratively heads the organization. A Program Administrator and core supporting staff assist him. The Executive Director is a co-opted member of the Board of Directors; He reports to the Board and participates in Board meetings to report on the progress of programmes and activities of the organization.

Louis Acheampong
Leader of Team an Organizational Development Practitioner, Social Mobilization in Health & Development expert, holds a Graduate Diploma in Materials Management & Administration, he is also a Facilitator Development Practitioner and has facilitated a series of projects, workshops and trainings within the Africa region (Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa and Tanzania) He also holds a Diploma in Youth in Development Work and Training of Trainers and has for the past Nine (9) years worked extensively in projects and community works related to Counselling, Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Infections, HIV/AIDS, Strategic Business Growth, Business Management & Training, and Local Economic Development (LED) through participatory approaches.

Louis is currently the Director of Social Support Foundation (SSF), Ghana after working as Project Co-ordinator from August 2001 to September 2002 for the HIV/AIDS Support Committee, Obuasi - Ashanti and as Stock Controller / Accounts Clerk, July 2001 to September 2002 and Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) Officer, Administrator and Trainer, September 1998 to June 2001 for African Explosives Ghana Limited (AEL) and ICI Explosives, Ghana Ltd respectively.

His job description and activities cover community animation, fund mobilisation, hygiene promotion, gender and rights based advocacy for development, community based institutions training, water and sanitation and Public health empowerment to community and group leaders. Co-founder and Management of a national NGO, Social Support Foundation working beyond ten Districts in five Regions of Ghana from four offices since October 2002.

Project Coordinator (CASOP)
Jones Owusu Sekyere,
(tel 024-3238417 / 0372 - 28037) He holds a B. Ed (Education), Teachers' Certificate 'A' 3 -year 1979 to 1982 St. John Bosco's Training College, Navorongo, Trainer of trainers Psychosocial Counseling, Advocacy and a Founder and former Proprietor of Maranatha Academy, Takoradi, with over ten (10) years working experience.

Jones Owusu Sekyere, also serves as the Training Coordinator for the Social Support Foundation (SSF), Dunkwa - on - Offin, due to his Professional experiences in Social Worker and Teaching, he was born on 29th August 1963 and has served this present organization SSF for two years in Ghanaian.

He manages the Dunkwa-on-Offin office and Coordinates the Central regional offices and the Basic schools Project, he additionally Organises Training with support from the other staff and Team members, Data Collection and Analysis, Report writing and documentation as well as on-site project supervision.

Jones also serves as the Manager of the Basic Schools project with sixteen (16) Teaching and non-teaching staff, 220 pupil and students and the 1st batch of 18 JSS students graduated with 100% BECE 2005 and aggregates between 11 and 24, all students had admissions into their chosen Senior Secondary Schools.



Project Coordinator (BOLD),
ADDAI BEMAH VERONICA,
was born in 1977 in the Ashanti region of Ghana and holds Diploma In Adult Education from the University Of Ghana. She has also been trained and worked as a Professional Teacher from the St. Louis training college (CERT "A") Amakom Abrotia M/A J.S.S. Teacher (1999-2003) all in Kumasi. She has also gone through the Facilitator Development Programme recently and has a line up of projects and trainings to facilitate.

As a Class Teacher she was responsible for the Preparation of Lessons-Notes and Evaluation of students performance, Counsellor on students issues, Recommended and implemented various ways of checking students health and Co-ordinated with parents to check students performance.

Veronica has gone through several trainings and disciplines including Workshop on preparation of weekly forecast and lesson notes, Workshop and promoting Girl-child education, Seminar for sports and Health Teachers, these she benefited as a Teacher while in the Basic School above. As a student of the University of Ghana Institute of Adult Education, she further went through programmes like; Workshop on guidance and counseling, sexually transmitted disease (STD), Inaugural Lecture on saving for future use, Inaugural Lecture on leadership skills and how to work with a Team.

Her volunteerism and socialization further enlightened her as she participated in the Potential discovery seminar on investment; A practical step to create wealth organisied by the Methodist-Presby students Union. University of Ghana, Legon and as a Volunteer of the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) she benefited with expertise in creating awareness of contraceptives among the youth, Member of the planet for the sensitization of female condom and female circumcision and Researched and Analyzed on community's felt needs, Katamanso in Ga District.

Veronica has to her credit three (3) Unpublished Thesis, thus; Education as a key to Good Parenting (St. Louis Training College), Sanitation and hygienic conditions in our markets. (A case study Kumasi Central market), Skills and knowledge Acquisition in beads and batik training at Calvary Youth Organization (NGO) University of Ghana, Legon. She has competency in Computer software usage, MS Word and Excel likes Reading, talking to people, singing, listening to music


Accounts Officer,
Linda Amewuho,
Among a team of three in the Accounts office, holds a Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting) from the Kumasi Polytechnic. She has a worth of Financial Management experience (4 years) after working with the Oda Government Hospital (2002) as Accounts Clerk / Cashier under a Chartered Accountant. Her experience in Business management and Accounting was deepened through her two years work with a Unilever Key Distributor, Great Birim Limited, Akim Oda as the Accountant. Linda is presently working with the Social Support Foundation as the Accountant and responsible for the Budgeting and management of all project funds and financial reporting to our numerous donors. She also prepares all the books of accounts for auditing and reporting purposes.

Her use of Computer Software and Applications has been a daily phenomena mastering MS Word, Excel, Access and Power point, and Accounting software including Peachtree.


Administrative Officer / Secretary,
Victoria Sackey - Aidoo,
Supervising a team of Office Assistants, Attachment students, Security Personnel and Drivers in the administration office of social support foundation, holds a certificate in Health Education from the Kwame Nkruma University of Science and Technology Kumasi after her SSSCE at Boamponsem Secondary School, Dunkwa-on-Offin. She has recently gone through the Facilitator Development Programme and has a line up of projects and trainings to facilitate.

She has a worth of Office Management and Secretarial experience one year working with the Social Support Foundation presently as Administrative Officer. Her experience in Business management and Store keeping has deepened through her years work on managing, disbursing, accounting for and reporting on the Catholic Relief Services Safety Net Programme as the assistant Centre official for Social Support Foundation, Dunkwa-on-Offin.

Victoria is presently working with the SSFs' Income Generating Activity (IGA) Project for our clients and other Civil Society Organisations and responsible for the Planning and Training as well as reporting to management and donors.

She also prepares all the books of accounts for auditing and reporting purposes. Her use of Computer Software and Applications has been a daily phenomenon mastering MS Word, Excel and Power point software's. Victoria has been a Pupil Teacher for two years before her Certificate course in Health Education.


Project Officer,
Godwin Komla Bansah,
holds a Diploma in Social Work and has been trained as a Trainer of trainers Psychosocial Counseling and Advocacy. He has extensive experience in Pro-Poor Profiling & Poverty Mapping and Programming, and has worked for over four (4) years Community Development

Godwin also serves as the Coordinator for the Social Support Foundation's Business Sector Advocacy Challenge (BUSAC) Project, Obuasi, due to his Professional experiences in Social Worker and Rights based advocacy to development, and he was born on 8th June 1976 and has served this present organization SSF for two years (including his attachment) in Ghanaian. He manages the Central regional office - Mankesim in the Mfantsiman District Assembly and Organises Training with support from the other staff and Team members, Data Collection and Analysis, Report writing and documentation as well as on-site project supervision.
