
The SSF, a Ghanaian based charity NGO, serves as a multi - sectoral community support group, formed with Technical support from the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service, the District Responds Initiative, Care International, Ghana Registered Midwives Association and Religious Bodies (Christians and Muslims), for the needy and deprived in the operational communities. The Charity NGO, Social Support Foundation is aimed at empowering people on their rights to effectively participate and demand their share towards community development. The SSF existence is also influenced greatly by the enhancement of a coordinated and sustained development through health and social support services to meet the needs of the vulnerable groups in our operational communities.Among the programs administered by the Ghana based Charity NGO, Social Support Foundation are care and support for people living with HIV and AIDS, orphans, vulnerable children, gender advocacy and community development.

History
The Social Support Foundation, Ghana, (hereafter referred to as SSF) is not-for-profit, independent, non-profit and non-governmental organization founded in August 2000, registered (2002) and based in Ghana, West Africa.
The SSF serves as a multi - sectoral community support group, formed with Technical support from the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service, the District Responds Initiative, Care International, Ghana Registered Midwives Association and Religious Bodies (Christians and Muslims), for the needy and deprived in the operational communities. The SSF is aimed at empowering people on their rights to effectively participate and demand their share towards community development. The SSF existence is also influenced greatly by the enhancement of a coordinated and sustained development through health and social support services to meet the needs of the vulnerable groups in our operational communities. Over the years SSF has worked and continue to work in support of the needy, vulnerable and marginalized such as Persons Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA), Orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), Women and persons with special needs in the Obuasi Municipal and 16 other Districts in the country.
Objectives
- Providing Care and support for persons living with HIV, orphans and vulnerable children, including Advocacy on Rights and Basic Social Services
- Raising funds to support Women and Children empowerment, including rehabilitation of commercial sex workers in our working communities
- Enhancing education for sustainable health and Environmental security, Livelihood and socio-economic development to our working communities
- Facilitating Public Health education and Research programs
- Providing assistance for health and spiritual growth of all the beneficial communities
